Jersey Shore Makerfest
DESCRIPTION: What is the Jersey Shore Makerfest? Begun in October 2015, the JSMF is an experimental, experiential, educational, and non-profit annual community event, a free and free-wheeling celebration of creativity and imagination that’s part MythBusters, science lab, county fair, and art studio. It consists of 70-100 maker booths and workshops, a drone/RC field, an EdTalk studio with live interviews and motivational presentations, competitive and instructional robotics arenas, and the annual town Green Fair. Over 250 makers with hands-on experiences and 10,000 attendees have joined us in our first three years. Come be part of the fun and learning!
New for 2018
- Expanded RoboSpace (now two gymnasiums!) with first Robotics challenges and a new Coding Collaboratory.
- Expanded outdoor Green Fair with Toms River United Sustainability Team. (TRUST)
- Hourly MakeIt Challenges with prizes and local fame, open to all.
This year we are supporting the Fall Harvest Festival in the quintessential downtown of scenic Toms River (2 miles south of us) with a free shuttle bus between the two events, co-sponsored by Community Medical Center. Come to town and make a day of it!
